1987 Ford Mustang Saleen V8

This 1987 Ford Mustang is #187 of 280 examples modified by Saleen Autosport for the model year.

The car is finished in red over gray cloth and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a 3.55 rear axle.

The 5.0-liter High Output V8 produced 225 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when new.

Saleen added a strut tower brace to the engine bay, the air conditioning system was serviced and the oil was changed in 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Ford Racing five-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 rear axle.

The removed original transmission is included in the sale.

Finished in Red, the car was modified by Saleen with a rear spoiler, revised front and rear fascias, side skirts, and gold side graphics.

The car’s Saleen build number (187) can be seen on the driver side of the front bumper, and “Saleen” and “Racecraft Suspension” logos were also added to the exterior.

The side skirts and front and rear valances have been refinished.

The car is equipped with five-lug hubs and 16″ mesh alloy wheels with gold centers and polished lips.

General Exclaim UHP tires are mounted and measure 225/50.

Stopping power is provided by four-wheel, powered-assisted discs.

Saleen suspension upgrades included unique springs, strut top bearings, urethane sway bar bushings, Monroe Formula GP shocks, and a horizontal axle damper.

The interior features Flo-Fit bucket seats trimmed in two-tone gray cloth with red accents as well as Saleen-branded door panels and floor mats.

Interior equipment includes power windows, air conditioning, and an optional Kenwood KRC-5001 cassette stereo is paired with a Kenwood graphic equalizer and six speakers.

A serialized Saleen plaque is mounted forward of the shifter, which is equipped with a Saleen knob and a Hurst short-throw kit.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer.

The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles.
