1981 DeLorean DMC-12 V6 Gull-Wing Doors

This 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 features a stainless-steel exterior over a gray leather interior, and power comes from a 2.85-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle.

The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 features Bosch Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 153 lb-ft of torque.

A May 2018 service included recharging the air conditioning and replacement of the windshield washer pump.

An oil change was performed in July 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.

The passenger-side axle seal was replaced in 2018.

The exterior of the DMC-12 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiario and features brushed stainless steel body panels over a fiberglass underbody and steel chassis derived from the Lotus Esprit.

Additional features include gull-wing doors, rear window louvers, plastic side molding, black bumper covers, and a dual-exit exhaust system.

Turbine-style 14″ and 15″ wheels wear Mastercraft SRT Touring tires up front with Firestone Firehawks in the rear.

The front brake calipers were replaced as part of a service in May 2018, and the brake fluid was flushed in July 2021.

The interior features seating upholstered in gray leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and center console.

The gray carpets are covered by black DMC-branded floor mats, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, a tilt and telescoping steering column, a rear window defogger, and an aftermarket Alpine stereo receiver.

The passenger-side window switch and regulator were replaced in May 2018, and a work completed in July 2021 included replacement of the door support struts and driver-side window switch.

The removed stereo is included in the sale.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with 6,500 rpm redline, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.

The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 6k miles.
