1970 AMC AMX Coupe V8
Description
This 1970 AMC AMX is finished in Golden Lime Metallic over a black vinyl interior and is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The 390ci V8 was dyno-tuned in June 2021, and service at that time included installing a PerTronix electronic ignition, cleaning and re-jetting the carburetor, and replacing the vacuum advance diaphragm, ignition coil, spark plugs, and spark plug wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
A stainless steel exhaust is fitted.
The car is finished in Golden Lime Metallic (90A) and features black stripes, a vacuum-operated “Power Blister” hood scoop, chrome bumpers, finned rocker panel molding, and tri-color 390 quarter panel badges.
Steel 14″ Magnum 500 wheels feature silver trim rings and wear 215/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
Aftermarket air-adjustable rear shocks are fitted, and braking is from power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The two-seat cockpit is trimmed in black and features vinyl-trimmed bucket seats and a woodgrain dashboard and door panels.
Amenities include air conditioning, a Hurst shifter, and power-assisted steering.
The air conditioning compressor and expansion valve were replaced in March 2021, and the system was also converted to R134a refrigerant.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline and inset gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature.
The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles.
