This 1929 Ford Model A coupe underwent a refurbishment and rebuild in its current hot-rod configuration during the mid-1990s, power is supplied by a 350ci V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, and service in 2022 included recharging the air conditioning, changing the oil, and replacing the air filter.
The GM-sourced 350ci ZZ3 V8 crate engine is equipped with cast-aluminum cylinder heads, hypereutectic aluminum pistons, a hydraulic roller camshaft, exhaust headers, and an MSD electronic ignition, along with a dual-plane aluminum intake manifold topped by a Holley four-barrel carburetor.
The engine was rated at 345 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a body-color Ford 9″ rear axle with a 3.73:1 final gear ratio.
The car is finished in metallic purple with pinstripe designs on the radiator cowl and trunk lid and accent stripes down the sides.
The all-steel body features shaved door handles and a 4″ chopped top, and it sits on a TCI Engineering frame that is painted to match and supported at both ends by four-link suspension with adjustable coilovers at the rear and chrome struts up front.
Exterior features include Maxtel H4 halogen headlights, flush-mounted taillight strips, running boards with black rubber mats, and a one-piece tilt-out windshield with an exterior sun visor integrated in the roof above.
A button beneath the fuel-filler door opens the driver’s window for reach-in access to the door handle.
Staggered-diameter Wheel Vintiques wire wheels measuring 15″ up front and 17″ at the rear are painted yellow and wrapped in BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires, braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching woven floor mats, and the seat was reupholstered.
Amenities include air conditioning and heating by Vintage Air, power windows, and a Kenwood CD receiver with Bluetooth connectivity mounted overhead. Down-facing front speakers and controls including those for the windows and HVAC are mounted beneath the dashboard; forward-facing speakers are located behind the seat.
The billet steering wheel fronts a machine-turned instrument panel centered on a body-color steel dashboard.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph AutoMeter speedometer flanked by matching gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage.
The digital odometer shows 10k miles, true chassis mileage is unknown.
